SwypeUK Ltd (trading as Drivera) is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

To provide the Drivera service, we collect and process the following categories of personal and vehicle data:

Account & Identity

• Full name and email address
• Profile photo (if uploaded)
• Account credentials and authentication tokens

Vehicle Information

• Vehicle registration number (number plate)
• Make, model, year, colour, fuel type, engine size, VIN
• MOT, road tax and insurance expiry dates
• Mileage, technical specifications and performance data
• Vehicle photos uploaded by you

Service & Maintenance Records

• Service history, repair logs and garage details
• Expense records including cost, date and vendor
• Uploaded documents (MOT certificates, invoices, V5C, warranties)
• Reminders for MOT, tax, insurance and services

Incident Reports

• Incident date, time and location
• Scene and damage photographs
• Third party and witness contact details you provide
• Police reference numbers and injury details

Smart Inbox

• Email content forwarded to your Drivera inbox address
• Attached documents and AI extracted data from those emails

Billing & Payments

• Subscription plan and billing status
• Card brand and last 4 digits (payment details are handled securely via our payment provider)

Usage Data

• App interactions and feature usage events (anonymised analytics)
• Device type and browser information

We use your data for the following purposes:

• To provide, operate and improve the Drivera platform
• To display your vehicle information, service history and reminders
• To process and store incident reports
• To send reminder notifications for MOT, tax and insurance renewals
• To process subscription payments and manage your billing
• To run AI assisted features such as maintenance guides and inbox processing
• To enable vehicle transfers between Drivera users
• To comply with our legal obligations under UK law

We process your data under the following lawful bases:

• Contract — to provide the Drivera service you have signed up for
• Legitimate Interests — to improve features, detect fraud and ensure security
• Consent — for optional features such as marketing communications
• Legal Obligation — where required by UK law

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• AI providers — to power intelligent features (data is not used to train third party models)
• Payment processors — to handle subscription billing securely
• Cloud infrastructure providers — to store and serve your data securely
• DVLA / DVSA — we query public APIs to look up vehicle and MOT data using registration numbers
• Law enforcement — only where we are legally required to do so

When you transfer a vehicle to another Drivera user, relevant vehicle history is shared with the recipient as part of that transfer.

Drivera uses artificial intelligence (AI) to power several features, including the Hey Driver assistant, Smart Inbox email and attachment extraction, pre purchase inspection summaries, maintenance schedule generation, and the incident report checklist assistant.

What data is processed

• The text of your questions and messages to the Hey Driver assistant
• Inbound email content and attachments routed to your Smart Inbox
• Vehicle details (registration, make, model, year, mileage) used to generate maintenance guidance and pre purchase summaries
• Photographs and documents you upload (e.g. driving licence scans, incident photos, service invoices) when you use an AI assisted scanning feature
• Incident details you enter when you request an AI checklist

How AI providers handle your data

• Content is sent to our trusted third party AI providers solely to generate your response
• Your personal data is never used to train third party AI models
• AI providers retain inputs only for as long as needed to process your request, in line with their own privacy policies
• We do not share your data with AI providers for any purpose other than providing the feature you requested

Accuracy & your control

• AI generated responses may be incorrect, incomplete, or out of date — always verify important information with a qualified professional
• AI features are optional. You can avoid sending data to AI by not using Hey Driver, Smart Inbox, or the AI assisted scanning and checklist features
• You can request deletion of your AI conversation history and processed inbox data at any time by deleting the related content or your account

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days
• Anonymised or aggregated data may be retained for analytical purposes
• Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with financial regulations

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right of Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Right to Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Right to Erasure — request deletion of your data
• Right to Restrict Processing — ask us to limit how we use your data
• Right to Data Portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Right to Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests

We take the security of your data seriously. Measures include:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure cloud storage with access controls
• Optional in app PIN lock for device level protection
• Regular security reviews

No system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at privacy@drva.app

Drivera requests the following device permissions, only when you choose to use the related feature:

• Camera — Drivera uses your camera to scan driving licences, capture vehicle photos for your garage, add photos to your vehicle gallery, and capture scene and damage photographs for incident reports.
• Photo Library / Storage — Drivera accesses your photos so you can upload vehicle images, gallery photos and licence copies.

These permissions are never used to access your camera or photos in the background, and images you capture or upload are only stored against your own account. You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

Drivera uses anonymised analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve the experience. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data. We do not use third party advertising cookies.

Drivera is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes via the app or by email. Continued use of Drivera after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
